Research topics
MeBioS biosensor research topics: an overview
Because the MeBios biosensor group closely follows the emerging field of biosensing, we're active in different subdomains. What follows is an overview of our main research topics.
Aptamers
Because DNA/RNA strands bind molecules tightly and with high specificity, they serve as excellent bioregognition elements.
Biomimetics
The project is devoted to the development and application of artificial tongues for qualitative and quantitative analysis and artificial assessment of taste of various food products.
Enzymatic assays
Because enzymes are highly specific recognition elements their combination with suitable transducer systems leads to fast, accurate and cheap analysis.
Micro- and nanofluidics
In the emerging field of micro- and
nanofluidics, our group investigates and develops integrated
micro- and nanofluidic systems for high-end applications.
Nanoparticles
Nanoparticles are nanosized beads that can be used as a magnetic and electrophoretic separator, signal transducer or enhancer, catalyst support, ...
Fiber optic SPR biosensors
Within this topic, the
primairy focus is the combination of specific bioreceptorlayers on
fibers ...
